The newer curriculum for IB mathematics can be a little tougher than IB Math HL since the Analysis and Approaches are deeper into the higher level topics. To sum up the level of difficulty by comparing it to the previous syllabus, it can be seen like this:
Applications and Interpretations:
- Math AI HL – A more challenging version of math studies
- Math AI SL – Comparable to math studies
Analysis and Approaches:
- Math AA HL – Comparable to math higher level
- Math AA SL – Comparable to math standard level
