Teaching Philosophy

I believe Mathematics should be experienced as a process of
inquiry rather than a collection of formulas. Through conceptual
understanding, modelling and real-world applications, I encourage
students to understand not only how to solve a problem, but why
the solution works.

Students Often Struggle With

IB students often struggle with transferring mathematical
concepts to unfamiliar or real-world contexts. They may also find
it challenging to communicate their reasoning clearly and move
beyond procedural problem-solving towards deeper conceptual
understanding.

Favourite Part of Teaching

My favourite part is seeing an abstract mathematical idea suddenly
become meaningful to a student. I particularly enjoy helping IB
learners build the confidence to explore, make mistakes, reflect
and discover multiple ways of approaching a problem.

Ashish is an experienced Mathematics educator
specialising in IB DP and MYP Mathematics, with a strong focus
on inquiry-based and concept-driven learning. His teaching
philosophy combines mathematical modelling, reflection and
real-world applications to make abstract mathematical ideas
meaningful for students.

He has extensive experience in curriculum design, assessment
practices, differentiated instruction and academic mentoring.
His IB experience includes supporting students with
mathematical understanding, assessment readiness and the
development of critical thinking, reflection and transfer
skills.
