What Is IB PYP

A framework that nurtures the whole child

The PYP Framework

The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) for children aged 3-12 focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and beyond. It's a student-centered approach to education that reflects the best of educational research and international best practice.

All Questions Answered

Common questions about our tutoring services

We work with students from age 3 (PYP 1) upwards. The earlier a child develops strong inquiry habits and foundational literacy and numeracy skills, the easier every subsequent year becomes. That said, it's never too late; students joining us in PYP 4 or 5 make rapid progress with focused support.
Sessions for younger PYP students (ages 3–7) are 30–45 minutes with highly interactive, play-based elements. For older students (ages 8–12), sessions are 45–60 minutes with a more structured approach. All sessions are online and one-to-one. We send parents a written summary after each session covering what was covered, what clicked, and what to practice.
Yes. Our PYP tutors are trained in IB pedagogy, including the transdisciplinary framework, the inquiry cycle, ATL skills, and the Learner Profile. They understand the difference between teaching a child to memorise facts and teaching a child to inquire. That distinction is what makes PYP tutoring different from generic primary school support.
Unlike traditional rote learning, the PYP focuses on structured inquiry. We guide students to ask “Why?” and “How?”, helping them take ownership of their learning through the six transdisciplinary themes that connect classroom learning to the real world.
We use formative assessments through ongoing feedback, reflections, and regular check-ins. Instead of a single grade, parents receive detailed feedback on their child's progress toward specific learning objectives and their development of key IB Learner Profile traits.
Yes. We support Grade 5 students throughout their PYP Exhibition journey, from selecting a meaningful topic and developing lines of inquiry to conducting research, organising findings, and confidently preparing their final presentation.
