Biography
A scholarly journey anchored in a passion for
literature defines my academic trajectory. Armed
with a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and
Literature, I delved deeper into the realms of
literary exploration by earning a Master’s degree
in English Literature.
Complementing my academic prowess, I fortified my
commitment to education through specialised
International Baccalaureate (IB) certifications.
As a Category 2 certified teacher in DP English
Language and Literature, I harnessed the intricacies
of the IB curriculum, enriching my pedagogical
approach.
Embarking on my tutoring journey nearly five years
ago, fresh out of high school, was the initial step
towards fulfilling my profound passion for teaching.
As a freelance tutor, I embraced the responsibility
with enthusiasm, laying the foundation for what would
become a multifaceted career in education.
The evolution of my role led me into the realms of
soft skills and IELTS training within established
institutions. This experience not only refined my
subject-specific expertise but also equipped me with
the skills to cater to diverse age groups. I found
myself seamlessly transitioning between educational
frameworks, navigating through the intricacies of
IGCSE and ICSE curriculum, spanning primary to
high school levels.
In my tutoring methodology, I adhere to the principles
of the International Baccalaureate (IB) approach,
recognizing the diverse needs of individual students
within this framework. Commencing with a comprehensive
assessment, I employ IB-specific criteria to identify
strengths and weaknesses across subjects, ensuring a
nuanced understanding of each learner’s profile.
Building on this foundation, I collaborate with
students to develop a personalised action plan
aligned with IB principles. This plan addresses
challenges such as confidence-building, refining
exam techniques, or rectifying fundamental
misconceptions, all within the context of the
IB curriculum.
Outside the realm of tutoring, I immerse myself in
diverse pursuits that fuel my creativity and
intellectual curiosity. I find solace in the rhythmic
world of poetry, both as a reader and creator,
honing my creative skills through verse. Expanding
my horizons, I delve into podcast creation, exploring
the dynamic interplay of media and communication.
Simultaneously, I remain dedicated to scholarly
pursuits, devouring research articles to stay abreast
of developments in my field of study. These endeavours,
from poetic expression to podcasting and academic
exploration, enrich my personal growth and bring
dynamism to my educational approach.
