Most students will find AP Environmental Science to be more challenging than other environmental science classes in high school. AP Environmental Science is one of the more challenging exams to pass when compared to other AP courses in terms of passing rates. Nearly 50 percent of students who took the AP Environmental Science exam in 2021 did well, earning a 3 or better. The mean score was 2.67, while the passing rate for 2021 was 50.3%.

Generally, the College Board releases the AP scores early in the month of July after conducting the exams in around May.

Section 2: Free response

AP Environmental Science is an interdisciplinary course that integrates elements of geography, biology, chemistry, history, and many other subjects.
