What does AP Physics C Mechanics entail?
Secure your child’s future at Tychr.
The AP Physics C course is split into two distinct sections. Both AP Physics C and AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism are calculus-based courses. It can be difficult to manage the stress of going to regular school and studying for AP Physics at the same time. The best option is to sign up for individualized online tutoring sessions and ace the test with the required grade. You will learn about ideas like rotation, oscillations, kinematics, Newton’s equations of motion, work, energy, and power, systems of particles and linear momentum, and gravitation. You’ll perform practical laboratory work, participate in class activities, and utilize calculus to analyze phenomena and solve problems. Your grasp of the scientific ideas taught in the course units as well as your ability to use calculus to solve problems involving kinematics, linear momentum, and other topics will be tested on the AP Physics C: Mechanics Exam.
What does AP Physics C Mechanics enable you to do in the future?
AP Physics C Mechanics is a one-semester class that is usually taken in the second year. This class is recommended to students aspiring to pursue STEM courses for undergrad. Here are some of your major options if you choose to study AP Physics C Mechanics:

Our Proven T.E.S.T. Methodology
Like all our online tuition, AP Physics C Mechanics follows our proven T.E.S.T. Methodology. For the AP Physics C Mechanics, this Means:
THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK
Lessons are prepared by credible AP Physics C Mechanics tutors, and conduct doubt sessions, wherever needed. Intimidating theoretical topics like Electricity and Magnetism, Circuits and Maxwell’s Equations are given more attention to make it comprehensive and engaging at the same time.
EXPLANATORY VIDEOS
Pre-recorded videos including topic coverage, tips and tricks, uplifting the skills for analysing the writing, equations, calculations, diagrams, or graphs which strengthen student’s scoring ability !
STRENGTHENING CONCEPTS
The student then begins practising topic-wise assignments to reinforce their learnings, focusing on interpreting and describing visual representation, formulating testable scientific equations and more. TYCHR also provides monthly progress reports to keep track of student’s performance.
TIME BOUND TEST SERIES
Finally, the student moves on to solving AP Physics C Mechanics question papers in exam-style conditions for Section 1(MCQ’s) weighing 50 % and the for Section 2(Free Responses) weighing the same as MCQ’s. They then receive checked answer sheets and a comprehensive answer key to each.

FAQs – AP Tuition Classes
Because Tychr has a “high potential”!
AP Physics C is fully calculus based and is further broken down in two parts: Mechanics and Electricity and Magnetism. It is required for the student to have taken AP Calculus to take up this course. AP Physics 1&2 is a 2 year course that includes the college syllabus; Students take Physics 1 when they have minimum prior knowledge and Physics 2 when they want to delve a little deeper into the Physics 1 topics. Since Physics C is more calculus based, it is considered to be more difficult than Physics 1&2. It is also one of the hardest AP subjects to score in.
You are the only one who can decide if taking AP Physics C: Mechanics is worth it. It is quite likely that students who are interested in math and science and who have already taken and liked a physics- and/or calculus-based course will find AP Physics C: Mechanics to be interesting. You will also be making this decision based on what kind of major you choose.
The table below summarizes the sections of assessment:
Section 1: Multiple Choice
| Section 2: Free response
|
In order to prepare for AP Physics C, students who intend to take the course in their junior or senior year of high school could choose to enroll in AP Physics 1 and/or 2 during the first two years of high school.
The following percentage split is only an estimate and can vary from exam to exam. This is just to give you an idea of which kind of topics are given the most attention.
Unit 1 | Kinematics | 14-20% |
Unit 2 | Newton’s Law of Motion | 17-23% |
Unit 3 | Work, Energy and Power | 14-17% |
Unit 4 | Systems of Particles and Linear Momentum | 14-17% |
Unit 5 | Rotation | 14-20% |
Unit 6 | Oscillations | 6-14% |
Unit 7 | Gravitation | 6-14% |
