Minimum grade requirements

A-Levels A*AA with an A* in Mathematics

  • Further Mathematics is useful, but not required
  • Economics A-level is welcome, but not a pre-requisite
  • General Studies and Critical Thinking are not accepted

IB Diploma Minimum 39 points including

  • 7 in Mathematics at higher level
  • 6 in two further subjects at higher level
  • Either Mathematics Analysis and Approaches or the Applications and Interpretation syllabus will be accepted at a higher level with no preference.

Advance Placements Our minimum requirements for this course are grades 5, 5, 5 to include

  • 5 in Calculus BC
  • 5 in two other subjects

English Language Requirements

IELTS score of 7 overall (minimum 6.5 in all elements)

The application process for undergraduate entry to Imperial College London is facilitated through UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service). Applicants are required to submit their applications through the UCAS website, with important dates and deadlines available on the UCAS platform.

  • For the 2024 entry, the deadline for applications is January 31, 2024.
  • After the application review, shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview. The specific interview weeks for 2024 entry will be confirmed and communicated to the applicants.

The interview process consists of two components, both conducted within the same week

  • Firstly, candidates will participate in an online math quiz, lasting for 30 minutes at a designated time to ensure fairness.
  • Secondly, candidates will have an online interview with an academic, lasting between 20 to 30 minutes.

The purpose of the interview is to assess candidates’ motivation, analytical thinking, and communication skills. No specific preparation is required, and applicants are not expected to demonstrate prior knowledge of economics, finance, and/or data science. The primary objective of the interview is to identify prospective students who display a genuine interest in the program and are likely to thrive and excel in their studies.

Tuition Fees The tuition fees for BSc Economics, Finance and Data Science are £9,250 per year for home students and £36,700 per year for overseas students.

Intercalated BSc

The Intercalated BSc programme at Imperial College London welcomes Medical, Dental, and Veterinary students from both Imperial College and other UK or Irish institutions. The Selection Process

The selection process for the programme is based on three equally weighted supporting documents

  1. An academic transcript covering the student’s marks up to and including the latest academic year, with no official cut-off for academic performance.
  2. Applicants must provide an academic reference from a staff member at their university, who will be contacted directly by Imperial College for the reference submission.
  3. A personal statement is required, detailing the student’s reasons for applying to a particular BSc programme, why they believe they should be selected, and how the chosen BSc aligns with their interests in medical science and future career goals.

Tuition Fee

Tuition fee rates are the same as the Imperial College London MBBS Course. The fee for the 2024 entry is not set, however for the 2023-2024 set it was £9,250 for 1 year.

Summer School (Business)

Imperial College Business School offers an intensive and enriching Summer School programme, providing students with a unique opportunity to enhance their academic standing at a world-class university located in one of the most culturally vibrant cities globally. Participating in the Summer School serves as an excellent introduction to life at Imperial College.

The Business School’s Summer School programme features three distinct courses designed to broaden students’ knowledge and skills in relevant fields

Business Analytics

This course focuses on introducing students to various aspects of analytics, with a specific emphasis on prescriptive analytics. Students will delve into fundamental concepts such as probability and statistics, decision trees, and optimization techniques. Practical applications in logistics and organizational contexts will be explored, allowing participants to develop a comprehensive understanding of this field.

The only prerequisite knowledge they would expect the Summer School  applicants to have is a foundational understanding of key mathematical concepts such as calculus, linear algebra, and probability.

Assessment

  • Assignment (25% of final mark)
  • Assignment on linear and integer programming (25% of final mark)
  • Final examination (100% MCQ) – (50% of final mark)

Machine Learning and Applied Statistics

Entry Requirement

A minimum of A-level Mathematics with a grade of A or above, or an equivalent qualification. While not a formal requirement, having basic programming skills is considered desirable. The course is specifically designed for students who have completed at least one year of undergraduate studies in a quantitative subject such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computing, Physics, or Engineering.

Assessment

The college will issue an official transcript with a final mark (there will be no breakdown of the marks awarded for each of the assessments listed below)

  • One individual examination after the first week – (33% of final mark)
  • One individual final examination at the end of the third week – (67% of final mark)

Business Strategy and Consulting
