Need-Based Aid: UChicago meets 100% of demonstrated need in the form of grants (which do not need to be repaid) instead of loans for all families.
Merit-Based Scholarships: All students are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships, regardless of their financial situation.

- Federal Work-Study Eligibility and Non-Work-Study Eligibility
If you are eligible for financial aid, your financial assistance package may include the option for Federal Work-Study. This program allows you to secure work-study positions where the wages are subsidized by the government. It’s important to note that if you are employed through the Office of Student Employment, you may work up to a maximum of 20 hours per week during the academic year.
