Running out of ideas for your IA? Do not be alarmed; we have all been there. Most of you find it hard to think of a topic that you find both interesting as well as feasible. If you’re feeling stuck, we’ve got you.

We want to make sure that you choose the proper topic because it’s one of, if not the most crucial components of writing your IA. Fortunately, there are many excellent topics to pick from, and we’ve listed some topics that may serve as inspiration for your own study!

You might still be a bit unsure of what the IB IA is, as you may be finding it difficult to keep up with the one million acronyms that IB throws at you. Most students haven’t started their Internal Assessments because they’re still confused about what it entails. Essentially, the IB IA is just another way in which the IB assesses you. It usually tests your documentation and communication skills. Each subject has its form of IA. For instance, in Economics, you must write three commentaries based on news articles. Whereas, in science, you must conduct research via experiments and document it. Typically, it takes up 20% of your final grade, so it’s best to maximize your scores while you can. If you’re searching for inspiration, there are countless IB IA ideas available to help you kickstart your projects and excel in your assessments.

A high score in the IA will certainly boost your IB grade. It’s best to control what you can to ensure that you are always on top. We understand the importance of this, which is why we have made this compilation of ideas. Not for you to copy, but for you to gain inspiration.

NOTE: These ideas are only provided as inspiration; they should not be chosen at random. Plagiarism will not be taken lightly. Even though several of these subjects have in the past helped some of the IB graduates achieve good marks, it is crucial that you heed the counsel of your subject teacher before selecting any course!

We’ve listed out 50 ideas for a number of subjects for both Higher Level and Standard Level. Within each topic listed below, we include the basic reasons for investigating each topic, what the possible independent variables and dependent variables are as well as the basic experimental setup. Remember! It’s crucial that you think about how you can apply these concepts to your own life because doing so demonstrates genuine engagement.
We hope that our list has stimulated some of your creative juices so that you may start coming up with IA ideas for your subjects.
