Teaching Philosophy

I believe Mathematics should develop reasoning and problem-solving ability rather than rely solely on memorisation. I encourage students to understand the logic behind mathematical concepts and use structured thinking to approach unfamiliar problems.

Students Often Struggle With

IB Mathematics students can sometimes struggle with applying familiar concepts to unfamiliar situations and explaining the reasoning behind their solutions. Building mathematical communication, logical thinking and confidence with complex problems is often an important part of the learning process.

Favourite Part of Teaching

I enjoy helping students discover that difficult mathematical problems can be approached systematically. The most rewarding part is seeing students develop the confidence to tackle unfamiliar questions independently and recognise their own progress.
