Teaching Philosophy

I believe Economics is best learned by connecting theory to
real-world issues. My approach focuses on concept-driven learning,
analytical reasoning, evaluation and helping students move beyond
memorisation toward confident economic thinking.

Applying economic theories to real-world situations, developing
strong evaluation in written responses, structuring Internal
Assessments and Extended Essays, decoding assessment rubrics, and
moving from memorising concepts to independent economic reasoning.

Helping students connect abstract economic concepts with current
global events and watching them develop the confidence to analyse,
evaluate and communicate economic ideas independently.

Biography

Roochi is a dedicated IBDP Economics educator with
more than 12 years of experience teaching across IB, IGCSE, AS/A
Levels, and university programmes.

With a PhD in Management and a strong research background in
consumer behaviour and global economics, she brings academic
depth and analytical rigour into every lesson. Having taught
internationally, including five years in Singapore, she designs
inquiry-driven, concept-focused lessons that connect economic
theory to real-world issues and IB assessment expectations.

She has successfully guided over 30 Extended Essays with strong
academic outcomes and has played an active role in curriculum
planning and academic mentoring.

As an IB Economics Category 3-certified educator, she brings
deep assessment insight into her teaching, particularly in IA
guidance and exam preparation. Her experience across
international schools and global classrooms has consistently
helped students improve analytical writing, economic evaluation,
and overall performance across all components of the IBDP
Economics curriculum.
