FAQs – SAT Tuition Classes

A few frequently asked questions

The SAT is a widely accepted standardized college admission test that helps Colleges assess your academic ability and potential in comparison with the rest of the applicants in your graduating class across the world.

The SAT exam can be taken before or after finishing highschool. If it is being taken before the school year ends, the student can attempt the SAT exam in their Grade 11 or 12.

The SAT is out of a total of 1600 points.

  • Evidence based reading + writing: 400 points each for a total of 800
  • Math section is scored out of 800 points.

It is very important to relax and get a good night’s sleep the day before the test day so you are fresh in the morning. It is always wise to organize everything that you need including your calculators, batteries, admission tickets, etc the night before so you don’t end up cramming at the last minute. On the test day, wake up early and have a nice and healthy breakfast and aim to reach the test site in advance to avoid any last minute issues.

There are no schools as such but here are some of the best SAT prep courses for you!

Yes you can appear for the SATs in class 10. However, most students take up the SATs in class 11 as they feel like they need more time to prepare. If you feel like you have complete knowledge of the contents and have done well in practice papers, then feel free to take up the SATs in class 10 itself.

  • The Awakening by Kate Chopin
  • The Red Badge of Courage by Stephen Crane
  • The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

SAT’s can be taken as many times as you wish. Although, it is recommended that you take it at least 2 times so you have the best score but not exceed more than 3 or 4 times.

The SAT Math section has two parts where one of them permits the use of a calculator and the other doesn’t. Additionally, SAT only allows certain types of calculators so, it is advisable to research about that before you take the test!

It was mandatory from some universities to submit the SAT score before but due to the pandemic, most universities have made the SAT’s optional. Additionally, the College Board has also discontinued SAT Subject tests.
